Ms Jenni Byers, Clinical Psychologist

Jenni is a Clinical Psychologist and has been working in mental health since 1996.

Ms Jenni ByersJenni is an Associate at Joondalup Psychology Centre and works with children, adolescents and adults.  Jenni's approach to therapy is one that considers an individual's background/history, current life experiences, problems, strengths and goals.  Genuine caring, respect, compassion, acceptance, and encouragement are features of Jenni's style.  Jenni's treatment approach is tailored to meet the needs of each person, and involves Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focussed Therapy, Brief Therapy, Mindfulness Therapies, and Psychotherapeutic approaches that help identify unconscious patterns which may be impacting on current life experiences.

Jenni started working in mental health 20 years ago as a volunteer telephone counsellor with Lifeline, and later became a trainer of new volunteer counsellors.

Jenni has worked as a counsellor for both the Drug and Alcohol Office, and Cyrenian House Residential Drug Rehabilitation Service where she  provided individual and group therapy to clients, family members and significant others.  She has also worked as a Group Therapy facilitator at Holyoake, and as a Project Officer in the Magistrate's courts operating a court diversion program.  Jenni has most recently worked as a psychologist in youth mental health at eHeadspace.

  • Bachelor of Science (Psychology) First Class Honours Curtin University
